A new online cup known as the Stream.me Gauntlet will offer $10,000 for the North American region.
A new online tournament open to North American teams has been announced and will be called the Stream.me Gauntlet, in reference to Stream.me, a newly launched live streaming platform.
The Stream.me Gauntlet will offer a total of $10,000 in prize money with a $5 entry per player and a 32-team limit (sixteen team minimum) involved. In addition, CEVO's system—including rules, vetoes, and servers—will be made use of to help host the tournament.
The tournament will feature a double elimination bracket with a best-of-three upper bracket and best-of-one games for the lower bracket. The lower bracket finals will be best-of-three and the grand final will require the team advancing from the lower bracket to win two best-of-threes.
The prize-pool breakdown for the Stream.me Gauntlet will be:
1. - $7,000
2. - $2,000
3. - $1,000
Teams have until February 21st 12AM PST to register for the tournament (via a signup link which can be found here) and the event itself will run from February 23 and through March as well, although a full schedule has not yet been announced.
